Co-Housing

I just talked with Boris about housing and community living alternatives and I remembered a discussion about co-housing (not to be confused with co-op housing) on CBC's "Ideas". They talked about the "Windsong" community in the Fraser Valley. I find it an interesting concept. It may not be cheaper than traditional housing, but could provide more community interaction, in contrast to new urban housing ghettos. In co-housing a conscious effort is made to live in harmony with fellow citizens, and to share resources.
Boris suggested I put this link on his site. Check out
Windsong and Cohousing to find out more about the concept.
(It did not work for me at the first try, but with Boris' help, I now know how to make a link! (I hope it works)

Have you further investigated Cohousing?

Just curious if you've followed this thread any further, there's been a fair amount of growth in Cohousing since you posted it, many new community options.

Co-Housing

I have been living in WindSong co-housing for a few years, and my mother is moving into a new co-housing project.

I could come talk about co-housing, if anybody is interested.
