I Utterz

I fully blame Chris Heuer. I signed up for an Utterz account, after trashing him quite thoroughly over Skype some time back :P

What is Utterz? Well, it's mobile blogging, sort of. The only capability I've taken advantage of so far is the audio. You get a local (yes, even in Canada!) phone number that you can call, hit a few buttons, record whatever you want to say, hit some more and your recording will get posted. It posts (within 10 minutes) to the Utterz site, but can then also be set up to auto post to a number of other different places, like your blog or send out a Twitter notification. And yes, of course there is an RSS feed of your Utterz, so it's easy to pipe into Jaiku as well.

Aside from audio, you can also send pictures, video, and text to a special email address, and it will associate that with any audio Utterz you made in a 10 minute period.

So, you'll notice an Utterz widget in the sidebar top right, and I've also embedded a horizontal widget right in this post. Tonight, sore throat and all, I opened up my delicious bookmarks page and talked about the last 10 bookmarks I made.

Set up of Utterz on Drupal

BLog API installed and activated = check

Tried to set up s connection on Utterz site to do a test Utterz posting to a test drupal blog.

Got the folowing error:

Error parsing XML: XML_ERR_NAME_REQUIRED XML=

and it failed to establish a Utterz "connection" to my drupal blog.

I guess the other route is to embed an Utterz widget, but I'd like to pull off both if possible.

Any help/guidance, or advice on resolving the error message and/or embedding utterz widgets un drupal conttent pages would really be appreciated.

Another similar service is Jott for which there is a Drupal module. Jott also has Canadian access numbers. Jott.com and drupal.org/project/jott

Jott is focused more on to-dos

And Utterz is all about the social -- e.g. cross posting to Twitter and such. I'm interested in other stuff like SpinVoice as well -- speech to text stuff.

Well, you have to admit that they came up with a funny and interesting name. They even went on to use the cow to deliver their point. But udders aside, should I even be surprised. Applications like twitter and whatnot have been popping up one after the other, it only makes sense that someone try to create one for audio.
