[image:552,left,5,5,1]From start to finish, the entire route is 90km. This may seem like a long way, but on a canoe, it doesn't really seem to matter whether you are paddling or not -- the river just keeps flowing.
There are a few bumpy bits, and so far we are 2 for 2 of having people getting their canoes overturned (1 canoe each year), but there really aren't that many bumpy bits that are anything more than fun.
The first day we put into the water late (from #1 to #2) -- again! We stopped at the first, main camp, which took perhaps 2 hours or so.
The next day was also pretty short, only 5 and a half hours or so (from #2 to #3). We might have gone farther, but the lead boats were really far ahead, and we didn't want to risk getting stuck in the dark again, or on "rock island", so we camped at the last of the major sites.
The third day looks long (from #3 to #4), but it's actually really quick. I don't know if the scale is off or if the river starts flowing faster, but it only took about 4 hours. The river that flows into the Restigouche is the indicater that you've almost made it to the rafting grounds.
