It's not up on Primus' press release page, but this comes from Canada NewsWire:
PRIMUS Telecommunications Canada Inc. (PRIMUS Canada) is partnering with Best Buy and Future Shop to make TalkBroadband(TM), Canada's leading Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service, available at retail outlets across the country.
Now what Future Shop/Best Buy should do is have a live version of TalkBroadband set up in their stores, but set it so that you can only call other TalkBroadband users, including those in other stores.
What the heck: let them call anyone in North America -- it's only $40 a month, after all, and would pretty much drive home the advantages pretty clearly.

I haven't had a Telus residential line for some time now - is the service going to be cheaper than a Telus land line?

A "bare" Telus land line will run you about $25 - $30 per month with taxes, I believe (if someone has a recent bill, please post -- the last time I had service in BC, it was still BCTel!). The basic service from Primus is $20, with the "unlimited bundle" costing $45.95 and including unlimited long distance any where in Canada/US (here's the residential pricing page).
So, at worst, it's about the same price minus any hook up charges and extra features. If you are a heavy long distance user or someone that pays for a lot of extra features, Primus may end up being cheaper.
The main feature that I'm still waiting for (and may switch to Vonage or something like Tagline if Primus doesn't offer it soon) is voicemail-to-email.
