There actually aren't as many web-based MP3 jukeboxes as you might think. The best one I have found so far is Netjuke, but it also has the most requirements -- Apache, MySQL and PHP.
Storing all its info in a database (which it gets from scanning MP3s and their ID3 tags) gives Netjuke lots of flexibility. In fact, it is the only script that doesn't care how you organize your files on the disk, since all the info is in the database. The actual files are just pointed to in their database entries. The author mentions organizing files into ~700MB directories for easy backup to CD.
Andromeda and Zina are very similar, mainly because Zina was created with the express purpose of creating a free/open-source version of Andromeda. Andromeda used to be free, but has never been open-source. Both require a certain level of organization of your files on disk, since this is used to organize the display of your music. In practice, particularly with Zina, this will actually cause problems if you don't have your files in a certain manner.
