Project Management applications typically include functionality such as projects, tasks, sub-tasks, projected time, tasks completed, assignation of tasks to different people, etc. etc.
I have yet to find the "perfect" PM application. Below are a few I have tested.
Incyte Project Manager
Very basic project manager. Project-specific to do lists and tasks. Keeps track of time-to-deadline as well as task completion (i.e. how close to the deadline since the start, as well as how close to completing all the tasks).
IPM is so close. The one thing I would like to see added is the ability to handle quotes versus actual time taken.
Double Choco Latte
Strangely named project management and job tracking system. Very complex. My experience is that it is too complex.
Achievo
Allows management of projects with different phases, plus customers and employees. Time tracking, expenses, and to dos.
Outreach Project Tool
Very comprehensive projece management, meant to act as web-based collaboration with clients.
Internet Task Management System
Mainly task management. Very basic.
Willow Job Tracking System
Job tracking, focusing on audit trail of all activities associated with a job.

phpCollab
I really like this one. Turned work onto it. Its fairly simple.
Its first purpose is a Task management system. It has a couple of other niceties but it is designed to manage tasks.
Can generate all sorts of nice things like graphical progress bars with each task and completion amount. Uses LAMP.

It just works.

Thanks
Thanks, Evan. I remember seeing this, but I don't know why it didn't come up again. Maybe something was busted when I tried to install it the first time.
So you are using it internally at work? I keep wanting to use something like this, but for us it would be important to have the addition of invoicing-type functionality.
We are still using the built-from-scratch activity tracking system I wrote. It has accounts (i.e. customers) which have assets (e.g. websites, computers, printers, routers, etc.). Then, as an admin, we can add activities, each of which has a date, a duration, an associated account and asset, as well as the tech that handled the job.
Just basic reporting which outputs total duration of activities on a per-account basis, which we use for billing.
Anywho, it looks like phpCollab has some reports stuff as well. I will install and play with.
