James, Danny and I were down in San Francisco last week on Bootup Labs business -- attending a startup / incubator conference. I suppose I'll do a wrap up post on the business blog at some point this week.
Anywho, we had an excellent time, especially when meeting with Canadian ex-pats Dana Oshiro and Rebecca Reeve.
I've been reading Dana's other blog, hiyaa for some time, and asked her to put us in it. The picture included here is what she came up with. Danny *does* look to be taking an unnatural interest in James' ear...
I've been in SF all week on short notice -- client meetings, training, etc. Friday evening is open, and I'm going to join Kieran at the Drupal 6 release party (upcoming) being held at PariSoMa (a cool coworking space, apparently).
Don't wanna talk Drupal? That's fine, I'm up for DiSo, identity, Jabber, startups, whatever. I'll be in the one in the cowboy shirt holding a beer :P
P.S. Drupal 6 got released. It's going to be great. I'm stoked about working on some mega OpenID infrastructure.
Schmap puts together digital travel guides in website and downloadable form. They also happen to use Flickr as one of their main sources to get pictures for various items in their guides. I travel a far bit, and I have a lot of pictures on Flickr, so I've got lots of requests for various photos to be included.
One of my recent pictures that got selected as part of the San Francisco city guide was Andy Smith standing under The Stud sign. Now, the Stud happens to be "one of The City's most renowned gay clubs" and Andy Smith actually is a stud, so it was a good match :P
Chris Messina set up a dinner in the city (aka San Francisco -- I'm way down in Mountain View attending IIW 2006):
It’s last minute, I know, but if you can make it to tonight’s Out of Towner at Osha Thai at 7:30pm you can expect some great food and very captivating conversation!
…specifically:
- Identity 2.0
- Drupal
- Microformats
- NP Tech
- Coworking
- Open source
- …other yadda yadda!
So, if anyone feels like having a chat tonight, stop on by Osha Thai at 7:30pm. I turn into a pumpkin before the last midnight Caltrain back down to Mountain View.
